A popular form of direct mail is the self-mailer or post card, which come in many sizes but most are kept under 6” X 11” to save on postage.
When considering a self-mailer there are several things to keep in mind.
Postage often makes up 50 to 60% of the cost of a direct mail effort, as you can mail a variety of formats for the same cost, it is important to choose the size that allows you to adequately tell your story.
While a self-mailer certainly makes your sales message immediately visible, strong messaging is required, as you will have only 7-14 seconds to persuade a prospect to read on.
